As far as 128i go, my opinion stays the same. As far as the E90 328i, the my view is still the same as the 128i as far as engine goes. They both utilize the N52 engine which is the last NA inline 6 engine that BMW used for any of their line of cars. Awesome engine, which has the signature linear torque curve and power delivery.
That's pretty much the determining factor. The base curb weight difference between a 335 sedan and a 535 sedan is less than 100lbs. Gear ratios are the same on manuals, with tire size being the only difference. The 535 also has a slighty better drag coefficient.
By now, I’m VERY familiar with the two machines. I don’t know why TTAC’s comparison was between the 324-hp G37 and a 328 that gives up about 100 hp. The G37 will eat the 328 for lunch. The real comparison is between the G37 and the 335. From the outside, both cars look great, with the Infiniti wearing sleeker duds.
